Kwooty 0.3.1 Released
This is a bugs fix release. Thanks for people that have filled the bug tracker !
As usual the detailed changelog :
- SSL connection was not established when certificate could not be verified by authority instance. (bug #2942759)SSL connection is now established even if certificate can not been verified. Certificate can not be trusted if for example certificate signature failed, certificate is self-signed, Ca certificate is invalid, etc…
Detail about certificate verifying has been added in “connection” related tooltip at the bottom-left of the status bar :
There SSL connection is established, the certificate can not be verified (because Ca certificate is invalid)
There SSL connection is established, the certificate has been verified by GoDaddy.com Inc.
- kwooty now handles server response 423 (no such article number) which could be responsible of bug #2955501 (kwooty tries downloading the same file again and again).
As I can not reproduce this issue with my usenet provider, I hope that handling 423 response code will solve this issue…
According to RFC, servers should properly send response 430 ( “no such article found”) but anyway response 423 from usenet server ( “no such article number”) is now handled.Anyway If problem still occurs please let me know as I will probably need to get in touch with you in order to get additional info.
That’s all for that time.
I’m currently adding new features for next release, so stay tuned !
Bye.
