Kwooty 0.6.1 Released
Here is kwooty 0.6.1 !
This is a translation update and bug fix release, below a screenshot of what it looks likeĀ
:
As usual the detailed changelog :
- Czech translation (thanks a lot Pavel !)
- Bug fixes :
- Kwallet now reopens the wallet it is closed
- Credentials were not correctly removed from plain text when Kwallet option was enabled
- Watch folder was not working correctly on certain distro. It seems that KDirWatch class was not returning the full nzb file path when FAM or INotify were not used as notify methods. A workaround as been added in order to manage this case. If issue is still present, feedback are welcome !
That’s all for this release !
Cheers,
Xavier

Bravo Xavier
This is a Great software which was missing for KDE4.
Nice GUI , very good par2cmdline integration …
Wish list:
- Download speed limit
- Position & size geometry (KDE App Settings is meanwhile ok)
Thanks 4 all
Cyring
Hi Cyring,
Thanks for your feedback !
I’m currently adding several new features (between two MW2 sessions
) and I plan to add download speed limit for the next release if everything goes fine.
About position & size geometry, what do you mean exactly ?
Cheers,
Xavier
Hi Xavier,
I was meaning that when lauching again Kwooty its postion & window size is not restored.
Maybe I missed something or not but did the trick using KDE
However it is not a big deal compared to the quality of your software : I should talk to Arch Linux guys to handle it into the Extra repo
New 2011 wish list !
- Could you make Kwooty invoke KDE when auto shutting down : this way, all KDE users settings could be taken into account, such as time before going down / cancelling shutdown / etc
- Display which binary tree is in action ; ie: bottom status bar displays alt.binary… while a thread being selected. The goal is to help finding where is located a corrupted thread
- A button to reapply the whole decoded job ; ie:
1- user multi selects part of corrupted threads
2- press Start to request download & decode & assembling
* PAR2 & previous files have to be kept for this
Regards
Cyring
Cyring,
kwooty’s window should be restored when launching it again.
As any other kde applications, all kwooty settings are stored in .kde4/share/config/kwootyrc (maybe .kde according to distros) including window size preferences.
Maybe window size preferences have been overloaded by clicking on kwooty icon on top left on main window > Advanced > special window settings… ?
Wish list :
- kwooty currently uses the kde power management api for shutdown feature. Time before going down can be configured in kwooty’s shutdown settings.
- I will try to bring more info about what files are corrupted. Currently I plan to display which downloaded archive files are corrupted just after being downloaded.
- Button to retry download : it’s a user requested feature and have good chances to be added in a future kwooty release !
See you,
Xavier
